As the saying goes “You’re as young as you feel!!!”  Imagine being able to fulfill that longtime dream of working a job that you’re passionate about and have a love for.  Music is the only job where you can be as young as you feel.   I’ve finally been given this opportunity to be as young as I feel again.  My name is Brian G.  I’m a Music Producer from Paterson, New Jersey.  I’m also a singer/songwriter of various genres.  Upon completion of retirement of 20 years of active military service I set sail on yet another journey to accomplish what I’m so passionate about.... Music!  I enrolled in the online program, Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Production at Full Sail University in late November 2011. The opportunity arose for me to take my degree on campus in 2014 so the transfer was made in September of that year.

 

The musical journey started as a child long ago.  My first album was Michael Jackson’s, Thriller album, given to me by my mother.  After receiving this album the music bug bit me early  as a teenager in high school and I wanted more of it.  I joined the high school marching band as a clarinetist and later on switched to the saxophone.  I learned to read sheet music, some theory, and count rhythms while on the band. Shortly after getting the feeling that I wouldn’t have the resources for college to pursue my passion for music any further, I joined the military following high school to pay for college.  My career in the military caused me to let my passion for music to go dormant within me because of obligations and responsibilities.  I achieved great accomplishments in the military, but this wasn’t where my passion lied.  It has and always will be music, so now I’m here.

 

As I approach the final months of my degree program, I look forward to giving the world good music as an artist, songwriter, musician, and music producer.  I want to be the platform that promotes, infuse, and empower other artist through collaborations and endeavors that break the norms of the music industry at the present time.  Every piece of work I create individually or involve myself in collaboratively I intend for it to impact listeners as a whole while keeping it’s uniqueness that I bring through my creativity.  I look forward to introducing my part to this forever changing language we call music.
